WELCOME TO THE DISTRICT! WE’RE HAPPY YOU’RE HERE….
The District is our brand new programming hub that offers 7,000-square-feet of creative space, a fully stocked recording studio, workshop rooms, counseling pods, movement space, children's space, and local partners in the work. The District is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 9AM - 4PM and Wednesdays 12 - 4PM. The District offers “Drop-In” Creation District programming, which means that youth do not need to make an appointment or have a referral to jump into open studio, recording sessions, classes, or workshops. Once a member of the District, youth will also have access to appointment based employment services through Waking the Village and Lutheran Social Services, wellness support from the Youth Help Network, housing support from the Prevention and Intervention Team, and other support services from local partners.
HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER OF THE DISTRICT?
It’s easy! The District is committed to sparing youth from the arduous and often times, invasive intake process that takes place in so many social service settings. However, we DO ask for some basic information so that we know which services our creators are eligible for and how we can best support them in accessing services. In order to join the District, we ask youth to fill out a one time “membership form” that can be done in-person, upon arrival or ahead of time online. The link to the form can be found here!
